Ken Harbuck was a force to be reckoned with on the football field. If you were lined up against him, you knew you were going to be hit like a freight train. He gave it his all in everything he did and was a true inspiration to everyone he came in contact with. Countless stories are still told of how he touched so many lives and inspired so many — especially the players he knocked down! He was a caring and dedicated cop, loving husband and father, as well as an amazing football player. His wife continues to attend every game.
Ken entered into rest December 29, 2008 in Sacramento, Califronia, at the age of 51. Born September 11, 1957, he was a native of Sacramento. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Maria Harbuck, and his children, Kenneth (Bucky) and Ronnie Harbuck. He was a member of the Sheriff’s Department from 1989–2008, graduated from Sacramento State University and played for the Kansas City Chiefs in 1981.
Buck is the reason the Law team for Pigbowl/Guns and Hoses has the motto which we still use to this day, which is said at every practice and game day! He will never be forgotten.
“It’s good to be a Hog.”
